Joseph A. Baust, Jr., MD received his undergraduate degree in biology from Centre College of Kentucky, Danville, Kentucky. He earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tennessee and completed a pediatric residency at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in 2004. In 2014-2015, Dr. Baust was Chief of Pediatrics at Mary Immaculate Hospital. Dr. Baust is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Baust previously practiced medicine in Tennessee and moved to Newport News in 2006, where he resides with his wife and two sons. He enjoys reading, writing, history, playing tennis and spending quality time outdoors with his family.

Dr. Baust joins TPMG and the opening of TPMG James River Pediatrics on October 3, 2016. He welcomes his existing patients and new patients to reserve an appointment with him at his new location.
