Doherty, Matthew T., MD

Matthew T. Doherty, M.D. received his undergraduate degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from The College of William and Mary in 2002, and completed a Master of Science degree in Anatomy from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2004. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia in 2008.

Dr. Doherty is a member of Richmond Academy of Medicine, Radiological Society of North America, Society of Breast Imaging and American College of Radiology. He served as Commonwealth of Virginia Medical Examiner from 2009 to 2014 as the principal case investigator for the City of Richmond and surrounding counties. He remains actively involved with Dogs on Call-The Center for Human-Animal Interaction, as a certified therapy dog handler, and visits patients at VCU Medical Center, local rehabilitation centers and nursing homes.

TPMG welcomed Dr. Doherty to TPMG Imaging and Breast Center in August 2015.
