Danny V. Cantwell, M.D., F.A.C.S. received his undergraduate degree from Emory State University and earned his Doctor of Medicine Summa Cum Laude at Emory State University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in General Surgery and served as Chief Surgical Resident at Emory University’s Grady Hospital.

Dr. Cantwell is board certified in General Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

He has published in numerous medical journals, and has served as both director and faculty presenter for many continuing education surgical symposiums on laparoscopic surgery.

His special medical interests include the treatment of breast disease, intestinal cancer, gallbladder disease, and hernia repairs.

Dr. Cantwell has been practicing in Newport News since 1983.
